By assigning the race numbers, the participant will therefore automatically know
if he is assigned to the red or the blue course. The start is set for 9:30 as specified
in article 7 with starting gates of the type used in parallel slalom races. The
race numbers will be distributed on Friday and Saturday morning as specified by
the instructions posted at the race office. |

any federations. Starting order on the basis of the receipt by the organizers of
the enrollment form accompanied by the payment. |
Article 4 – Parallel courses
Each course will be set with a single gate, red for one course and blue
for the other course. The course will be a simple left-right course, without the
use of figures or long gates. The course will be, in general, similar to a Giant
Slalom race. In some case other signals or indications will be provided to facilitate
the recognition of the course. The two courses will be set to be equivalent, will
generally have the characteristics of a giant slalom, and in any case the choice
of the red or blue course will be by chance based on the number pairing determined
by the organizers. |
Article 5 - Pairing up on the parallel course
Pairing up on the parallel course At the time of enrollment, the participants can request to start in pair
with another person. If a participant chooses to pair up with another participants
of the same ski club, he must indicate the name and enrollment number as specified
on the enrollment form. If the participant chooses to pair up with a participant
from another ski club, please indicate clearly the name of the ski club and of the
other participant. If no choice is indicated, the pairing will be done according
to the FISI or FIS points as specified in article 3.
The organizers cannot guarantee
that all the requests will be satisfied. The pair of participants will be placed in the starting order with the worst FISI
or FIS points between the two, therefore it may result in a later start for the
participant with the best points. The same criteria will be utilized for the participants
without FISI or FIS points, as indicated in article 3.
In case no pairing is requested, the participants will start in the proper place
according to article 3 |
Article 6 – Enrollment
The enrollment form must be received by the organizers before 7 pm of Friday,
March 2nd, accompanied by the enrollment fee of €30 for each participant. The enrollment

bank transfer on the bank account indicated on the enrollment form.
The organizers reserve the right to limit participation to 500 racers as well as
to limit enrollment for individual countries. Enrollment will be accepted in chronological
order based on the receipt of the enrollment form accompanied by the payment. The
payments made for enrollments not accepted for any reason will be totally refunded.
Late enrollment: After the deadline
of March 2, the organizers reserve the right to accept further enrollment. The starting
order for the enrollments accepted after the deadline will be strictly chronological,
and the participants will start at the end of the participants enrolled regularly,
that is after the participants without FISI or FIS points. The late participants
will start in chronological order therefore it will not be possible to choose a
partner as indicated in article 5. Late enrollment will pay a surcharge of €5 Euro and will not be able to participate in the “Trofeo Regolarità” described in article
9. |
Article 7 – Race start and race course viewing
The first pair of participants will start at 9:30. The starts will continue every
40 seconds simultaneously on the red and blue course, except for interruptions for
safety or other reasons, including the start of special challenges. The viewing of the course, according to the rules posted at the arrival of the race,
will take place as follows: access to the course will be open to numbers 1 to 75
red an d blue at 7:45, for numbers 76 to 150 red and blue at 7:55, and for numbers
above 150 from 8:05 until 8:15.
Access will be allowed until the opening of the
access for the next group of numbers. Participants who are not at the gate at the
correct time will not be able to view the course.
All participants must be finished
with the viewing and off the course by 8:45.
Access to the course will be limited to the participants with the bib in full view.
Maximum care and moderate speeds are required during the viewing. It is not allowed
to try either of the courses. The race officials and organizers will signal the
participants who do not obey the race course viewing rules and they will be disqualified
and not admitted to the start.
After the last access time (8:15), and until the
end of the race, the “di Prampero” ski run will be closed and the only way to reach
the arrival area will be with the ski lift.
The ski lift “Limerza” (pista Misconca) will be accessible for warm up runs. The
run is open to the public so maximum care must be taken to avoid accidents. |
Article 8 – Prizes
Every participant will receive a race package containing merchandise and samples provided by the organizers. Besides the trophies,
prizes for the race champions and the first three placed in each category will amount
to over €5.000. Prizes will include travel and lodging packages and sport equipment. |
Article 9 - Standings according to the declared time “Trofeo Regolarità”
At the time of enrollment, each participant can indicate his own “declared time”
that he or she estimates it will take to complete the race and that will count toward
a special standing. The time must be declared at the time of enrollment, therefore
well in advance of seeing the real course. For the first edition of the race, not
being possible to refer to a similar race, the estimated race time can be calculated
by referring to the length of the course. Please note that the race materials and
general rules refer to the Giant Slalom races. The winner of the “trofeo Regolarità”
will be the participant that will have the lowest compensated time. The compensated time will be the sum of the race time +10 times the difference between
the race time and the declared time.
For example, if a participant declares 300 seconds as his or her declared time,
and the actual time is 20 seconds more (or less), he will be penalized by 200 seconds
(20 seconds times 10) and will therefore have a compensated time of 300 + 200 = 500 seconds. Participants must maintain speed and turning lines according to the
race and their ability. It is strictly forbidden to stop, utilize chronometers,
beepers, radios or other means during the race with the aim of comparing the time
declared with the effective time. Participants who will not behave according to
the rules or will engage in dangerous or unfair conducts will be disqualified.
The formula used to calculate the compensated time encourages the participants to
complete the course in the shortest possible time, so a participant who would declare
a very high time and then would stop before the finish line and wait to match his
declared time, besides being disqualified, would non be rewarded. |
Article 10 – Standings by Ski Club - Trophy: Lussarissimo – Il Gran Gigante delle Alpi Giulie
Trophy: LussarissimoThe trophy will be awarded to the ski club that will achieve the lowest
time by summing up the participants of the following categories:
Giovani/senior: 2 males, 2 females
Master A: 3 athletes
Master B: 2 athletes
Master C: 2 athletes |
Article 11 – Cancellation of the Race
In case of poor snow conditions or other unforeseeable events, the organizers
have the right to cancel or postpone the race. In case of planned cancellation the
organizers will refund 50% of the enrollment fees paid. The jury can also cancel
the race or decide to shorten the course, before or after the start of the first
participant, in case the weather conditions warrant it or for safety or any other
reason. |
Article 12-Race materials
Race helmets are required for all participants.
|
Article 13 – Modifications to the rules
The organizers will have the right to make any modifications they consider
necessary for the organization and safety of the event. Possible changes can be
made until the start of the first participants and will be communicated by posting
a notice at the race office or at the race finish line. Please check for notices
to be informed of eventual changes. |
Article 14 – Protests
The organizers will not accept any complaints for problems with the course,
other athletes or organizers on the course, etc. Complaints need to be presented
within 30 minutes from the end of the race, accompanied by a fee of € 50 that will
be retained in case the complaint is rejected. |
Article 15 – FISI Rules
The FISI rules apply in the cases not covered by the present rules. |
Recommendations and other rules
Participation to this race requires a good physical condition and is suggested
only to athletes who have trained on adequately long ski trails. In case of stops
or falls during the race, move out of the course and carefully look before you restart
the race. The participant who stops or falls must yield to the participants already
on the course. Maximum case must be taken when overtaking another participant and
avoid overtaking in dangerous parts of the course. The overtaking participant must
do so without penalizing the participant in front. After the finish line, please
move out of the finish line area as soon as possible. The course can have unexpected
obstacles such as other participants, organizers positioning gates or fixing the
course. Participants will need to take extra care to deal with unexpected events
during the race. In case a participant decides to abandon the race before the intermediate
station, he or she must stop at the intermediate station and continue down with
the ski lift. For the portion of ski trail necessary to reach the intermediate station
or the finish area, participants who abandon must descend on the side of the trail
taking extra care not to interfere with the participants in the course. |
